ACT4All Project
Metro Mobility is expanding e-bike access to low-income communities in Massachusetts through the ACT4All project. Through partnerships with housing authorities, property owners, municipalities, and employers, Metro Mobility has deployed their patent-pending ChargeLock stations and compatible e-bikes to provide affordable, convenient, and green transportation for those in need. Access to reliable transportation in the form of station-based e-bikes can expand economic opportunities, provide access to healthy food options, and eliminate CO2 emissions from internal combustion engine vehicle trips.
ChargeLock Stations
The Metro Mobility ChargeLock station technology allows the following unique deployment models:
E-BIKE LIBRARY - Shared e-bikes with extremely low cost rentals for income qualified individuals. E-bikes are automatically charged when at the station, lowering operational overhead and allowing rentals for just $1 per day.
OWNERSHIP + CHARGE - Station-based e-bikes assigned to an income qualified individual. Each e-bike is assigned to a single owner who has access to a ground-floor charging and locking station near their place of residence. Bikes are always charged and accessible.
Data and Software
Metro Mobility’s station based e-bikes provide real time GPS location and usage data. This information is logged and analyzed by Metro Mobility's fleet management software to make the trip maps on this page possible. The granular data from this system allows for precise measurement of trip mileage, tracking of routes and destinations, and unprecedented insight into how these e-bikes are being used. The Metro Mobility user apps collect additional information about trip purpose and mode replacement in order to track the impact these e-bikes have on users and their community, and precisely measure C02 emissions reduction. The trip maps shown here can also provide additional insight into the broader transportation network and assist with planning by local and state agencies.
